Arts Marketing Internship

 September 2023-June 2024.

Part-time Contract Position.

$5000 for the season + a $5000 budget for you to allocate towards marketing activities.  Hours are negotiable and flexible.  Remote work.

The ideal marketing coordinator would:

●      Collaborate with the Artistic Director to strategize creative promotional approaches.

●      Research and apply best and most effective practices for promoting concerts online and in-person.

●      Create social media events and postings (primarily Instagram and Facebook) for New Works Calgary 2022/2023 Season Events

○      2x concerts

○      8 soundwalks

○      1x community engaged art project

○      2 public educational workshops

●      Create strategic timelines for social media postings to go live, and implement deadlines for content required from artists, partner presenters, and Artistic Director.

●      Manage Facebook and Instagram advertising.

●      Coordinate with and manage press information from artists.

●      Distribute press releases.

●      Work with the Artistic Director to manage the mixtape project (we invite artists to create tracklists of their favourite music to help promote events).

●      Work with the Artistic Director and Staff Writer to ensure newsletters contain appropriate and timely content and are distributed on time.

 

Skills required:

●      Strong attention to detail.

●      Strong written communication skills.

●      Excellent project management and organizational skills.

●      Experience working collaboratively in a team environment.

●      At least one year experience in a Digital/Social Media Marketing position at a Non-profit or corporate organization OR are currently enrolled in a professional training program OR demonstrated quantitative success as social media content creator. 

●      Passion for music (particularly experimental or otherwise strange music) an asset.

●      Experience in or demonstrated willingness to research and implement marketing strategies in the Entertainment / Performing Arts field.
