For the second concert in our 2024-2025 season lineup, we bring together Edmonton-based composer Emilie LeBel alongside Calgary-based choreographer Melanie Kloetzel, for an evening of live music and dance playing and moving in parallel.

For this third show we’ve teamed up with local curatorial collective Tadpole to offer a weekend of East-West Canadian creative music exchange, featuring workshops and performances from Montréal’s Naomi McCarroll-Butler and Toronto’s Jelly Ear ensemble, as well as a local Calgary musical guest (TBA!!).

For our 40th anniversary season finale we’ve curated a concert featuring two creators working at the iconoclastic outer edges of knowable form, both of whom might be accurately described as ‘virtuosically one-of-a-kind’.
Soundwalks
2PM on the Third Sunday of the Month September through May, Various Locations.
At New Works Calgary we take an interdisciplinary approach to soundwalking, inviting not only musicians but artists from all disciplines to lead our walks. We encourage activation of sonic awareness from many different points through the body and mind; we are excited to explore as many different creative paths to listening as there are creative souls in the cosmos.
